This is a permanent part-time opportunity, working every other weekend.

As a Cook, you'll play a critical role in our communities, impacting the lives of our residents and fostering meaningful connections.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up equipment and supplies for food preparation.
  • Prepare meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes, and menu documents.
  • Provide for prescribed diets, ensuring quality and portion control.
  • Monitor food supplies and advise team leaders on issues and potential solutions.
  • In the absence of the team leader, assume responsibility for departmental operations, including menu changes and supply requisitions.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 minimum education required.
  • A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate.
  • Experience in cooking for institutional, healthcare, restaurant, or hospitality settings.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to meeting our goals and standards.
  • Pass a Vulnerable Sector Check (applicable to Ontario applicants) and a Criminal Records Check (applicable to British Columbia applicants).
Bonus Points:
  • Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program and willingness to Red Seal certify.
