Sous la responsabilité du gestionnaire principal, Services de déclaration de revenus, vous fournirez un leadership et une expertise dans les services de préparation des déclarations de revenus tout en apportant un soutien continu au Groupe gestion privée et aux services fiduciaires de RJL. L'un des principaux objectifs du titulaire de ce poste est d'améliorer l'expérience des clients tout en soutenant les conseillers en placement et les agents de fiducie. La personne retenue fournira des services de préparation des déclarations de revenus et des services de planification fiscale, en mettant l'accent sur l'élargissement du dialogue avec les clients et sur la proposition de valeur globale, tout en contribuant aux efforts de la firme pour consolider ses actifs et augmenter ses revenus.

Quelles seront vos responsabilités?

Gestion des relations avec la clientèle
  • Collaborer efficacement avec la division des clients privés, la division des sociétés fiduciaires, les conseillers en placement, les agents de fiducie, les services juridiques et les services de déclaration de revenus et de planification financière afin de développer les activités de services fiscaux dans la région.
  • Fournir du matériel éducatif sur la planification fiscale et la préparation des impôts par le biais de présentations, de documents écrits et de consultations individuelles.


Expertise en fiscalité
  • Assurer le leadership dans la prestation de services de préparation et de planification fiscale pour les particuliers, les entreprises, les fiducies et les successions clients de Raymond James.
  • Maintenir un contrôle de qualité élevé en vérifiant l'exactitude et l'exhaustivité des déclarations fiscales et des autres travaux effectués par les membres de l'équipe.
  • Maintenir à jour ses connaissances et sa compréhension des lois fédérales et provinciales en matière d'impôt sur le revenu.


Leadership
  • Rendre compte de la planification de la mobilisation.
  • Fournir un service exceptionnel aux clients. Développer des stratégies proactives pour approfondir les relations avec les conseillers en placement et les agents de fiducie.
  • Faire preuve de leadership pour garantir la mise en œuvre de processus et de systèmes efficaces dans le cadre de la prestation de services de préparation des déclarations de revenus.
  • Assurer la formation, l'encadrement et la rétroaction sur le lieu de travail afin de contribuer au développement des employés et des cadres de l'équipe des services de déclaration de revenus.


Stratégie et gestion d'entreprise
  • Créer des stratégies de communication et de marketing efficaces pour soutenir et développer les activités.
  • Collaborer avec des collègues de tout le pays pour assurer une prestation unifiée des services de déclaration de revenus dans l'ensemble du Canada.
  • Contribuer à la planification stratégique et opérationnelle liée à la gestion des clients et des pratiques, ainsi qu'au développement de nouvelles idées et approches pour améliorer les processus de travail.
  • Embaucher et constituer une équipe d'employés en fonction des besoins pour soutenir les services de déclaration de revenus.


Gestion et contrôle du risque
  • Assurer la liaison avec les services de conformité, les services opérationnels, les services juridiques et d'autres secteurs d'activité connexes afin de résoudre les problèmes systémiques, administratifs, juridiques et de gestion des risques liés à la prestation de services de préparation des déclarations de revenus.
  • Prendre l'initiative de résoudre les problèmes complexes des entreprises et des clients et collaborer avec les clients, les membres de l'équipe et les parties prenantes, le cas échéant.
  • Réaliser d'autres tâches et projets assignés.

  • connaissance fondamentale des concepts, pratiques et procédures d'investissement utilisés dans le secteur de la gestion de patrimoine ou des services financiers;
  • connaissance de la préparation et de la planification des déclarations de revenus des particuliers, des sociétés, des fiducies et des successions;
  • connaissance efficace de Microsoft Office ainsi que la volonté et la capacité d'apprendre à utiliser de nouvelles applications;
  • esprit critique et d'analyse pour déterminer et résoudre des problèmes divers, complexes et ambigus en temps utile et de manière pratique;

Exigences de formation ou d'expérience antérieure :
  • Baccalauréat en commerce, en finance ou dans un domaine connexe, ou une combinaison équivalente d'expérience et de formation; et
  • Avoir suivi le Programme fondamental d'impôt de CPA Canada ou être titulaire d'une maîtrise en fiscalité.


Permis et certificats
  • Titre comptable requis (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) avec plus de 4 ans d'expérience en pratique publique dans la préparation et la planification de déclarations de revenus des particuliers, des sociétés, des fiducies et des successions; et
  • Avoir suivi un cours sur les valeurs mobilières au Canada ou être titulaire de la certification MTI ou TEP constitue un atout.

Manager, Tax Preparation Services

How does the role impact the organization?

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Tax Preparation Services, you will provide leadership and expertise in tax return preparation services while providing ongoing support to the Private Client and Trust Services divisions at RJL. The position offers the opportunity to become a key resource in one of Canada's largest markets, joining an established team of tax professionals located in Vancouver and Montreal who work together to deliver exemplary tax preparation services across the country.

A critical objective for incumbents in this role is to enhance the client experience while supporting investment advisors and trust officers. The individual will provide tax preparation services and support tax planning services with a particular emphasis on broadening the dialogue with clients, and their overall value proposition, while assisting firm efforts to consolidate assets and increase revenues.

What will your role be responsible for?

Client Relationship Management
  • Partner effectively with the private client division, trust company division, investment advisors, trust officers, and its legal, tax and financial planning groups to expand the tax services business in the region;
  • Provide educational materials on tax planning and tax preparation via presentations, written materials, and individual consultations; and


Tax Expertise
  • Leadership in the delivery of tax preparation and planning services for personal, corporate, trust and estate clients of Raymond James (T1, T2, T3);
  • Maintain high quality control by reviewing tax returns and other work done by team members for accuracy and completeness; and
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the Federal Income Tax Act and the Quebec Income Tax Act


Leadership
  • Accountable for engagement planning
  • Provide outstanding client service. Develop proactive strategies to deepen relationships with both investment advisors and trust officers;
  • Demonstrate and provide leadership to ensure efficient processes and systems are implemented in the delivery of tax preparation services; and
  • Provide on the job training, coaching, feedback to assist with development of associates and senior associates in the tax preparation team.


Business Strategy and Executive
  • Create effective communication and marketing strategies to support and grow the business;
  • Collaborate with colleagues in across the country to provide a unified delivery of tax services across Canada; and
  • Contribute to strategic and operational planning related to client and practice management, as well as the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes.
  • Hire and build a team of associates as necessary to support the tax preparation services business.


Risk Management and Control
  • Liaise with compliance, operations, legal and other related lines of business to resolve system, administrative, risk management and legal issues pertaining to the delivery of tax preparation services;
  • Take lead on resolving complex business/client challenges and collaborate with clients, team members and stakeholders when required; and
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Fundamental knowledge of investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the wealth management or financial services industry;

Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education; and
  • Completion of the CICA In-Depth Tax Course or Masters in Taxation.


Licenses/Certifications
  • Accounting designation required (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA) with 4+ years' public practice experience in personal, corporate, trust, and estate tax preparation and planning; and
  • Canadian Securities Course, MTI or TEP designation would be an asset.
