Registered Nurse, Emergency

Seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in an emergency department, utilizing assessment, planning, and evaluation skills to deliver high-quality care.
Responsibilities:- Assess patients and collect information from various sources to make informed nursing diagnoses and develop effective care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to promote person-centered care and ensure patient autonomy.
- Participate in care and discharge planning, coordinating nursing care and prioritizing tasks to ensure effective care delivery.
- Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance to support self-care and discharge planning.
- Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, interventions, and patient outcomes according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
- Participate in research and quality improvement activities to identify patient care issues and implement corrective actions.
- Act as a preceptor or mentor to new nursing staff and students, sharing knowledge and expertise to support their development.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Completion of applicable post-graduate coursework in emergency nursing or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to assess patients, communicate effectively, and promote person-centered care.
- Ability to integrate and evaluate data to problem-solve effectively and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to teach and instruct patients and families about health care and well-being.
