Cenovus Energy Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Student Operations Project Management Professional to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for assisting project engineers with designs of less complex equipment, providing data for engineering, procurement, and construction of capital projects, and maintaining and developing cost budgets and schedules for projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop engineering troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Assist project engineers with designs of less complex equipment, including piping, pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, and other related systems.
- Provide data for engineering, procurement, and construction of capital projects, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Maintain and develop cost budgets and schedules for projects, ensuring timely completion and within budget.
- Oversee on-site construction and commissioning of engineering projects, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Currently enrolled in an Engineering or Construction Management Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Available to begin work on a specified date.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Valid US Driver's License with no restrictions.
- Strong attitude for carrying out all work in a safe, cautious manner while following safe work practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A multi-discipline program with meaningful, hands-on work experience.
- Networking events coordinated by the New Grad Committee, including group mentoring from senior/executive leaders, lunch 'n learns, guest speakers, technical presentations, and holiday celebrations.
- Wide support network, including direct leaders, program leads, human resources, peers, mentor(s), New Grad Committee, and buddy.
- Structured goal-setting and performance evaluations.
- Opportunity to present work-term learnings to the Cenovus Leadership team.
- Students moving for their work term may be eligible to receive a lump sum relocation payment to assist with relocation expenses.
- May include frequency of travel, sitting, standing, computer work, lifting, driving, working at site, etc.
- This is a safety-sensitive role, and as such, you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours.
- You will also be required to pass the Cenovus pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements.
