About the Opportunity

As an Occupational Therapist, you will work under the direction of the Program Manager to provide consultation, assessment, treatment, and follow-up of clients in the occupational performance areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure. Your objectives will be to facilitate, restore, and/or maintain clients' optimal level of function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultation, assessment, treatment, and follow-up of clients in the occupational performance areas of self-care, productivity, and leisure
  • Facilitate, restore, and/or maintain clients' optimal level of function
  • Provide education and support to clients, families, and caregivers
  • Function as a member of a multidisciplinary hospital and/or community health care team

About You

We're looking for a highly skilled and motivated Occupational Therapist who possesses the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor or equivalent of Science in Occupational Therapy
  • Licensure with the provincial regulatory body, the College of Occupational Therapists of Nova Scotia, is mandatory
  • Experience in seating assessments and pressure management strategies is considered an asset
  • BCLS
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to facilitate education programs and interact positively with patients, families, other health care providers, and staff
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of respect that supports safety, ethical practices, cultural awareness, and organizational health
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, while effectively planning, organizing, and supervising
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust to the changing needs of the service and the program/facility
  • Must be able to work alone or with team members in all service settings
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
