Clerical Assistant: Programs and Services

Maternity Leave Replacement Position to May 30, 2025 (or until incumbent returns).

Position:

The maternity leave replacement for the position of Clerical Assistant: Programs and Services with the Newfoundland and Labrador Teachers' Association is a Category 3 position under the Support Staff Collective Agreement providing direct clerical support for the Employee Assistance Program and is responsible and accountable to the Assistant Executive Director.

Academic

The successful candidate should have successfully completed a program of study in business/office administration or equivalent. Extensive software skills are required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), in a Windows based network environment and knowledgeable about web-based information management systems. Knowledge of SharePoint and Laserfiche will be considered assets. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Duties:

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic work environment and will need to be adaptable to changing and challenging work assignments. The successful candidate's responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Provide clerical support to two EAP Coordinators.

Liaise with outside counseling offices to assist with applications, and set-up of counselors for the EAP referral list.

Liaise with outside counseling offices to provide EAP file numbers and to assist in EAP billing.

Liaise with EAP Coordinators to record and monitor eligible EAP counseling expenses.

Prepare and copy material for EAP workshops.

Prepare, update, and maintain statistical reports.

Maintain confidential EAP data base and files.

Perform billings for EAP services in a timely manner.

Review, scan, and archive NLTA paper documents.

· Provide coverage and relief for other support staff during periodic or temporary absences, or during periods of increased workload.

Compensation: - starting Salary $45,645 with a full range of benefits as per the support staff collective agreement.
