We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Sienna Senior Living. As a critical role within our communities, this position impacts the lives of residents and fosters human connection.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up equipment and supplies for food preparation, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
  • Prepare meals and snacks according to production sheets, recipes, and menu documents, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Provide for prescribed diets, adhering to temperature and portion control guidelines.
  • Monitor food supplies and advise team leaders on any issues or recommendations for corrective action.
  • In the absence of the team leader, assume responsibility for departmental operations, including menu changes and supply requisitions.
  • Assist in the orientation and training of new team members, promoting a positive and supportive work environment.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 minimum education required.
  • A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate.
  • Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality settings.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence.
  • Pass a Vulnerable Sector Check (for Ontario applicants) or a Criminal Records Check (for British Columbia applicants).
Bonus Points:
  • Graduate of a recognized college food preparation program and willing to Red Seal certify.
