Key Responsibilities
  • Engage Residents: Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with residents through regular conversation and interaction.
  • Program Coordination: Assist the recreation team in planning, coordinating, and implementing recreation activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents.
  • One-on-One Support: Provide individualized support to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe and report on resident care and services, providing valuable insights to inform our care delivery.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Assist in coordinating volunteers and community resources to enhance our recreation programs and services.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with peers to coordinate activities, ensuring seamless delivery of services.
  • Equipment Management: Manage recreation equipment, including inventory and maintenance concerns, to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for residents.
  • Event Setup and Cleanup: Assist in setting up and cleaning up after events and activities, maintaining a tidy and organized environment.
  • Compliance: Operate in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience in Residential Care: Preference given to candidates with experience in a residential care setting.
  • Education: Completion of high school diploma.
  • Driver's License: Valid provincial class 4 driver's license is an asset.
  • CPR and First Aid: Completion of CPR and First Aid is an asset.
  • Safe Food Handling: Safe Food Handling Certificate is preferred.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors, and operational partners.
  • Organizational Skills: Superior organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple resident requests.
  • Communication Skills: Superior oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and problem-solve.
