Halifax Stanfield International Airport seeks an Access Control Officer to ensure the safety and security of passengers, workers, and flight personnel by monitoring security lines and access points.

Job Description:

As an Access Control Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring terminal areas and perimeter for safety concerns and suspicious behaviors
  • Ensuring tenants and guests adhere to Transport Canada regulations
  • Performing regular patrols of airport facilities to ensure security and safety measures are upheld
  • Conducting routine safety checks throughout the property
  • Responding to emergency situations and acting as incident commander until relieved by first responders
  • Detecting, responding, and managing emergencies as directed by the Security Operations Centre (SOC)
Requirements:
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, including working under pressure
  • Discretion when handling confidential and private information
  • Ability to pass a security clearance and hold a RAIC
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and overnight shifts
  • Must be at least 19 years of age and have a high school diploma
  • Must have reliable transportation to the airport
  • Must have a valid Driver's License with at least 3 years of driving experience
  • Must have a valid First Aid & CPR certificate
