The successful candidate will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and medication management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Diagnosing and treating patients with undifferentiated diseases, disorders, and conditions
- Monitoring ongoing care and ordering diagnostic investigations
- Establishing priorities for patient management and communicating with patients and families about health findings and treatment plans
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to assess and diagnose patient status and develop treatment plans
- Prescribing medications within statutory and regulatory standards
- Assigning work to other nursing and healthcare personnel and evaluating their work
Requirements:
- Current practicing registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
- Recent relevant clinical nursing experience
- Ability to communicate and collaborate with patients and families about health findings and treatment plans
- Ability to critically assess and evaluate health research literature to determine best practices
- Ability to assess and recognize population health trends and plan strategies for population-based prevention and health promotion
