Summary: Temporary Full Time Painter Apprentice position available, requiring completion of apprenticeship and in-school training, with opportunities for career growth and development.

Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM - 3:30PM

The City of Burnaby is seeking a motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a Painter Apprentice. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing manual and semi-skilled tasks of moderate difficulty in the Painter trade.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform manual and semi-skilled tasks of moderate difficulty in the Painter trade
• Attend in-school training as directed by the Industry Training Authority
• Work in a team environment and maintain effective relationships with coworkers
• Meet the physical demands of the work
• Hold a valid BC Driver's Licence, Class 5

Qualifications:

• Up to high school completion required
• Basic understanding of standard practices, methods, tools, materials and equipment as used in the Painter trade

Salary Progression:

• 1st 6 months of apprenticeship: 70.0% of Trades 2 - Painter rate
• 5th 6 months of apprenticeship: 80.0% of Trades 2 - Painter rate
• 2nd 6 months of apprenticeship: 72.5% of Trades 2 - Painter rate
• 6th 6 months of apprenticeship: 82.5% of Trades 2 - Painter rate
• 3rd 6 months of apprenticeship: 75.0% of Trades 2 - Painter rate
• 7th 6 months of apprenticeship: 85.0% of Trades 2 - Painter rate
• 4th 6 months of apprenticeship: 77.5% of Trades 2 - Painter rate
• 8th 6 months of apprenticeship: 90% of Trades 2 - Painter rate

This is a Temporary Full Time opportunity until December 21, 2027.
