Job Title: Research Assistant 2

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant 2 to join our team at BC Cancer. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the execution of a phase two clinical trial in the field of nutrition.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform a variety of established technical procedures according to written protocols.
  • Record results, including computer data entry.
  • Provide input regarding modification of procedures as requested by the Department Head, Principal Investigator, or designate.
  • Maintain and store test materials and products.
  • Maintain inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • May demonstrate work methods or procedures to less experienced assistants as designated.
  • Obtain patient consent for study recruitment, schedule appointments, and work with databases.
Requirements:
  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to graduation from a recognized Bachelor's program in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Bachelor of Science); plus two (2) years of recent related experience in a research laboratory.
  • Previous experience working with patients in a clinical setting.
  • The ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
