Key Responsibilities- Assessment and Care Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans to address their unique requirements.
- Direct Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care to patients, including physical, emotional, and psychological support, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Education and Support: Educate patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of mental health conditions, promoting empowerment and self-management.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development, staying current with best practices, research, and evidence-based guidelines to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Education: Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN or RPN with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Experience: One (1) year of recent related clinical experience working within a child and/or youth mental health setting relevant to the service area within the BC Children's Mental Health Program or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
- Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to relate effectively to children/adolescents and their families; and ability to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary care team, work independently, and function as a nursing resource.
