Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer to join our Investor Services IT Innovation Team in Technology & Operations at the Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying cutting-edge applications using emerging technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, efficient, and secure applications using a range of technologies, including Python, Java, NodeJS, and React.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop solutions that meet those needs.
  • Work with junior developers to create prototype applications for stakeholders and provide guidance and mentorship to help them grow in their roles.
  • Evaluate new processes and assess whether they will be a good addition to our technology stack.
  • Conduct code reviews, security reviews, and remediation of critical vulnerabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in at least one backend framework such as Python (Django, Flask, etc), Java (Spring, Spring Boot, etc), NodeJS (Express, etc).
  • 2+ years of experience in at least one frontend framework such as React, NextJS, Angular, etc.
  • Experience deploying applications to a cloud platform (Kubernetes, OCP, Azure, etc).
  • Knowledge of DevOps concepts and tools (git, GitHub Actions, Sonar, etc).
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL or NoSQL) and knowledge of data storage, transfer, and manipulation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting applications in a production environment.
  • Experience working with Generative AI systems.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining APIs.
