Responsibilities:
- Assess patients and provide nursing care.
- Collaborate with patients and families in developing care plans.
- Participate in care and discharge planning.
- Coordinate nursing care and collaborate with the interprofessional care team.
- Teach patients and families about health maintenance.
- Participate in research and quality improvement activities.
- Act as a mentor to new nursing staff and students.
- Provide feedback on patient care programs.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse.
Completion of Cardiology component of Post Basic Critical Care course and one year's experience in cardiac monitoring or telemetry unit.
Current Basic Rescuer Certificate.
Skills and Abilities:
- Clinical proficiency in the designated area.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to promote person-centered care and patient advocacy.
- Problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Collaboration with the interprofessional care team.
- Ability to use evidence-based practice in decision-making.
- Physical ability to perform duties.
