  • Full-Time/Regular Platform Leads Platform Leads serve as the business and technical heads of the engineering platforms. Through the successful management of a group of engineers, technologists and designers, the platform leads will deliver high quality designs within budget and schedule. This is a leadership position that involves management, design, project planning, estimating; a certain level of customer relations and interfacing with the rest of the company. A successful candidate will own the engineering and product development of that particular platform. A truly successful candidate will have expertise in the particular field of the platform.
Duties & Responsibilities Direct the telematics portion of product design and development at initial design phase including:

Design concept Regulatory compliance Testing methodology # Direct and guide standardized approach to Design of assigned new products focusing on Performance of product, Design for Manufacturability, Serviceability, Reliability, Affordability, etc.

# Work within design teams on assigned products from concept through prototype testing to ensure design meets scope and development targets.

# Ensure appropriate and disciplined approach to design activity is followed. # Field research as required. Business travel will be an occasional requirement. # Teach and mentor design engineers and technologists and recommend skills training and process improvement where necessary. # Other duties as assigned. #LI-Onsite Required Skills Logical, consistent, and effective approach to problem solving including risk mitigation in design. Good communication skills – written and verbal. Meticulous attention to detail. Excellent work ethic. Required Experience Senior engineering experience in electrical and/or software design and implementation. Experience in data collection system design. Experience in vehicle/equipment telematics preferred. Experience with mobile equipment control systems preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
