Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Corporate Finance Director to join our team at the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO). As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of financial strategies, policies, and procedures that support the organization's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement financial planning and analysis processes to support business decision-making, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Treasury and Pension Management: Lead the development and implementation of treasury and pension strategies, policies, and procedures, including cash management, investment management, and pension plan administration.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including preparation of financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings.
  • Leadership and Management: Provide leadership and guidance to a team of financial professionals, including financial analysts, accountants, and other support staff.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team, Audit Committee, and Board of Directors.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or economics; CPA designation an asset.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior accounting or financial management role, with a strong background in public sector accounting standards.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team of financial professionals.
