Key Responsibilities
- Attend optometry school events and connect with students to promote Specsavers careers.
- Be the first point of contact for students interested in Student loan forgiveness / pathways program.
- Collaborate with students to keep them engaged and provide essential input on graduate recruitment and development initiatives.
- Work with graduates and store partners to support the clinical and professional development of early-career optometrists.
- Utilize optometric knowledge to ensure graduate recruitment and development initiatives align with clinical and personal development needs.
- Work towards future engagement with university pre-optometry / pre-professional programs.
Relationship Management
- Work proactively with Partners to ensure a positive and effective working relationship.
- Support and coordinate summer placements for students between first and second year.
- Support and coordinate 4th year externship rotations.
- Support the recruitment team with the placement of students as full or part-time associates.
- Work with Clinical Performance Consultants to ensure a seamless transition from recruitment to induction.
Capability Development
- Keep pipelines of students, externs/externship sites, and summer placements organized and up to date.
- Input into social media with knowledge of platform-specific techniques.
Essential Skills
- Experience practicing as an optometrist or background in optometry.
- Experience in fostering connections and building relationships with students and optometrists.
- Experience in the development and delivery of key resourcing plans.
- Experience in social media or familiarity with effective methods for engaging students and young doctors.
- Understanding of assessment methodologies and attraction approaches.
- Recruitment system and process knowledge.
- Experience of working cross-functionally.
- Measure and drive improvements to the effectiveness of campaigns through feedback and understanding.
Desirable Skills
- Direct headhunting experience, online/phone/in person.
- Track record in deploying a range of attraction approaches to meet business demands.
