We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Materials Planner to join our team at New Flyer. As a key member of our Materials department, you will be responsible for coordinating planning activities to support production requirements, ensuring accurate inventory levels, and implementing efficient logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate planning activities within the Materials department to support production requirements, ensuring timely delivery of materials to the production floor.
- Monitor and track inventory levels to ensure accurate and up-to-date records, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Implement efficient logistics processes to reduce lead times, improve delivery reliability, and minimize inventory costs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless communication and coordination, driving business results and continuous improvement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall business performance.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing or supply chain environment, with a strong understanding of materials planning and inventory management principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software applications, with the ability to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
- APICS certification or equivalent experience in materials planning and inventory management.
