Facility Services Worker (Casual)

About the Job

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Facility Services Worker (Casual) in our recreation buildings and facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including ice installation, pool maintenance, and equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspects, maintains, adjusts and operates a variety of ice-making, resurfacing and refrigeration equipment
  • Performs a variety of semi-skilled building and equipment repair and maintenance tasks, including painting, basic plumbing, replacing arena glass, basic carpentry and other related functions
  • Operates equipment in building systems, including heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC), lighting and electrical and plumbing systems, and monitors the operation of a variety of pumps and filters and logs results; cleans and makes minor repairs and adjustments
  • Inspects, maintains, adjusts and operates a pool filtration system, including activities such as the backwash of pool filters
Requirements
  • High school graduation or equivalent (GED)
  • Two (2) years full-time equivalent experience in ice making, pool maintenance, building maintenance
  • BCRPA Pool Operator Level 1 and 2, or equivalent training recognized by other provincial bodies
  • 5th Class Power Engineer's Refrigeration Certificate of Competency
  • Building Service Worker Certificate (approved minimum 16-hour course)
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License
  • Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certification
