About the Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Intermediate Environmental Scientist to join our Environmental Team in Grande Prairie, Alberta or Fort St. John, British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage upstream oil and gas projects in accordance with Vertex guidelines and project scopes.
  • Lead reclamation and vegetation monitoring projects, ensuring a cost-effective approach that exceeds client expectations.
  • Collaborate with the team to execute all aspects of the project, including Phase 1 and Phase 2 ESAs, remediation, reclamation, groundwater monitoring, and vegetation monitoring.
  • Mentor and coach junior environmental staff to ensure knowledge transfer and growth within the team.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or higher education in environmental sciences, biology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 to 7 years of environmental work experience, with a focus on upstream environmental assessment, remediation, and reclamation projects.
  • Excellent communication and technical reporting skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of contaminated sites and reclamation regulations in Alberta and British Columbia.
