CarePartners is seeking a highly skilled NSWOC Nurse to join our team. As a NSWOC Nurse, you will provide wound and ostomy consultation for patients in the clinic and community. If you enjoy caring for a broad range of clients with a variety of wound etiologies and wound care modalities, this is the role for you.
Key Responsibilities- Provide wound and ostomy consultation for patients in the clinic and community
- Use your knowledge of assessment, prevention, and interventions regarding wound infections and ostomy care
- Care for patients with consuming wounds, ostomy, continence, provide lower leg assessment including ABPIs
- Critically appraise the wound care literature and apply research evidence to practice
- Provide classifications and indications, appropriate utilization to reduce visit frequency and obtain desired outcomes
- Practice conservative sharp wound debridement (CSWD) and use of other debridement methods
- Provide edema management including bandaging based on complete lower leg assessment
- Monitoring criteria for adjunctive therapy for complex or recalcitrant wounds
- Support our patient's safety by practicing according to policy and standards
- Registered Nurse (RN) diploma
- Current College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) registration in good standing
- Graduate of Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy & Continence Canada (NSWOCC, formerly CAET), CNA exam may be pending
- Several years of escalating experience managing wounds and ostomies
- A strong desire and commitment to making a difference in the lives of our patients
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- A valid driver's license and vehicle as regular travel is required
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
- CPR Certification
- Current immunization record including 2 step TB test
- To protect our patients, we require a current vulnerable sector check and a clear background check
