About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Counsellor to join our team in Watson Lake, Yukon. As a Child and Youth Clinical Counsellor, you will provide specialized services to children and youth under the age of 19, and their families, experiencing difficulties with mental wellness and/or substance use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive assessment, treatment, and case management services to children, youth, and families.
  • Develop and implement individual, family, and group programming to support mental wellness and substance use recovery.
  • Liaise with schools, community partners, and specialty services to ensure comprehensive support for clients.
  • Use a variety of therapeutic approaches, including therapeutic play, cognitive behavioural therapy, and group counselling, to meet the unique needs of clients.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in social sciences, social work, counselling, or a related discipline.
  • Considerable experience providing individual and/or group counselling, assessment, and treatment planning for children, youth, and families.
  • Experience building partnerships and collaborating with First Nation governments and/or other community partners in a social service setting.
