Closures Technical Centre, a division of Magna International Inc., is focused on the design, development and testing of Mechatronics products for the automotive industry.

This role works works independently to program, set-up and operate CNC Machining Centers. This position assists with light assembly work and other Machine Shop duties as required.

Your Responsibilities
Responsible for programming, set-up and operation of CNC Milling & Lathe machines Provide CAD/CAM support to the personnel in the prototype shop and engineering as required Work with Prototype Makers and engineering to determine the most accurate and efficient method of CNC machining, Prototype tooling and components Maintain an appropriate level of tooling and cutters in inventory for CNC equipment Operate standard machine shop equipment (i.e manual mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders) Perform periodic maintenance of CNC equipment Fabricate parts, tooling and fixtures from print or CAD data according to a given deadline Complete required reports/documents Work to close tolerance as outlined in drawings Optimize programs and machine time in an effort to maximize productivity Report in a timely manner all shortages, lack of resources and problems that may occurWho we are looking for
Ability to read and understand drawings. Working knowledge of GD&T, SolidWorks and CamWorks would be an asset. Ability to use manual machines (mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders) Use of HAAS controllers would be an asset. Good written and oral communication skills Ability to work independently and as a team to complete projects. Ability to work in a timely and efficient manner. Good computer skills (Microsoft Office) Requires lifting and manipulation of materials as required.Your preferred qualifications
Minimum completion of a college or Trade School diploma with machine shop courses Minimum 2-3 years experience in CNC programming and machining.
