We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Snowboard Instructor to join our team at Big White Ski Resort. As a Snowboard Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching snowboard lessons to clients of all ages and skill levels, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
Key Responsibilities- Teach snowboard lessons following established teaching methodologies and progression levels
- Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of clients
- Assess client progress and provide feedback and guidance
- Ensure a safe and enjoyable learning environment
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and management
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training
- CASI Level 2 certification (or international equivalent)
- Previous snowboard instructing experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to perform duties in a mountain environment
- Canadian Ski Instructors' Alliance (CSIA) certifications
- Freestyle (Park and Pipe) certifications
- CASI Evaluator certifications
- Experience teaching children
As a Snowboard Instructor at Big White Ski Resort, you will be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You will be required to work in extreme alpine weather conditions and be able to ski/ride for 6-7 hours a day. You will also be required to lift 40lbs/18kg and assist a fallen skier/snowboarder back onto their feet.
CompensationThe starting wage is $23.00 per hour, plus sales incentives with increases based on relevant instructing certifications and time-based accruals.
