Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective health, safety, and environmental management systems to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project supervisors, foremen, and other stakeholders to develop and implement safety procedures, training programs, and emergency response plans.
- Provide guidance and support to employees on health, safety, and environmental best practices, and ensure that all employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of safety incidents, near misses, and other safety-related events, and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Communicate safety information and updates to employees, management, and clients through regular reports, meetings, and other channels.
- Participate in incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning to ensure that all incidents are thoroughly investigated and addressed.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure that safety expectations are met and exceeded.
- Post-secondary education in a related field, such as occupational health and safety, environmental science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a health, safety, and environmental role, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform safety decisions.
