The Yukon Development Corporation (YDC) is a government agency responsible for overseeing the Yukon Energy Corporation and promoting the development of new sources of generation in partnerships with First Nations and utilities.

About the Job

This is a 1-year term position, working full-time 75 hours bi-weekly, with the possibility of temporary assignments. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading clean energy capital projects in the Yukon, including planning, design, and regulatory preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage clean energy capital projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Develop and implement project plans, including budgeting and resource allocation
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including First Nations, utilities, and government agencies
  • Provide direction and leadership to the branch, and support the Deputy Minister and Assistant Deputy Minister
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Energy Systems, Business Administration, Project Management, or related field
  • Experience leading teams and human resource management
  • Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating renewable energy projects
  • Experience developing budgets, preferably in a senior management role within a government setting
  • Experience dealing with a variety of client groups, including the public, private sector, and First Nations governments
