Staff Pharmacist Job Description

The Staff Pharmacist assists the Pharmacy Manager in all aspects of the Pharmacy Operations, providing patient care and ensuring excellent patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate and efficient filling of prescriptions, counseling patients on sold pharmaceutical products, and maintaining proper storage of pharmaceutical products.
  • Establish and develop strong working relationships with Professional Services District Manager and other stakeholders.
  • Accept prescriptions and/or refill requests from customers, doctors, or hospitals, and execute processes as per Walmart's best ways/SOPs.
  • Protect and maintain patient privacy at all times and follows provincial regulations established by the regulatory body.
  • Ensure patients receive all eligible services they are entitled to, and assist in executing the business action plan to achieve corporate business goals.
Requirements:
  • Pharmacist License (secondary optional permit in Alberta: CA_APA - Additional Prescribing Authorization)
  • Ability to operate all equipment in the pharmacy (register, computer system, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a retail pharmacy setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
