We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Actuarial Intern to join our Actuarial Operations and Solutions team at Swiss Re. As an Actuarial Intern, you will play a key role in supporting the development and enhancement of valuation tools in Power BI.
Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with valuation actuaries to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable IT projects. You will write clear and detailed business requirements that will serve as the foundation for IT teams to design and develop innovative solutions in Power BI.
About the TeamOur team, Actuarial Operations and Solutions, plans, builds, operates, and improves Swiss Re's global systems and processes for Life & Health business. We own and operate Swiss Re's largest application and database, which is used by regional valuation teams, Finance, Portfolio Management, Risk Management, and other business-steering departments.
We have a diverse team of 15 members spread across the globe, including Toronto, Armonk, Bangalore, London, and Zurich. Our strengths stem from the diverse backgrounds and skills of our team members, including actuarial (pricing, valuation, AXIS modeling, product development, risk management), testing, information technology, and project management.
About You- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Bachelor or Master's in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Excellent oral, written, and listening communication skills.
- Exposure to Power BI is preferred.
- Completion of two or more internships in insurance or business is an asset.
- Completion of two or more actuarial exams is preferred.
- Highly motivated with an ability to work collaboratively.
- Independent, critical thinker yet creative in problem-solving.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and deliver results in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
