Job Summary:
The Kitchen Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment in the kitchen, ensuring the health and well-being of residents and tenants. This role requires attention to detail, physical ability, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a clean environment in accordance with departmental and Donwood Manor's philosophy, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Demonstrate diligence and thoroughness with minimal direct supervision.
- Perform duties related to assigned housekeeping position, including dishwashing and pot washing.
- Responsible for reading policy and procedures, disaster manual, WHMIS manual, and understanding specific responsibilities.
- Adhere to principles of safety, sanitation, and infection control practices, including diligent handwashing and adherence to policies regarding the use of personal protective equipment.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 education, Manitoba standards, required.
- Preference for prior housekeeping experience in the healthcare or hospitality services.
- Excellent command of the English language (both oral and written).
- Physically able to meet the expectations of the position, including bending and heavy lifting.
- General skills and abilities relevant to duties of the position.
- Ability to follow directions promptly and efficiently.
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with team members.
- Ability to relate well to the elderly.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Working Conditions:
The Kitchen Cleaner will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment, with frequent exposure to cleaning chemicals and equipment. The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
