Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the immediate leader, the building superintendent has the responsibility to carry out the following tasks to support buildings' activities.
Prepare units after move-out.
Conduct regular checks of the garage, hallways, exit stairs' lighting system and proceed with necessary replacement.
Conduct regular checks of vacant units, pick up newspapers and other objects.
Perform regular rounds of mechanical rooms.
Keep vacant units' doors and windows closed during the winter in order to ensure efficient energy consumption.
Maintain minimum inventory and send requests for material requirements.
Help residents being locked out, retrieve the unit's key from the maintenance office and open their door.
Execute mandatory shift rotation every four weeks.
Professional Experience
Three-year experience in general building maintenance.
Intermediate knowledge in electricity, plumbing, heating, carpentry, appliances.
Technical Requirements
Good knowledge of French both verbal and written, English, an asset
Sec V Diploma and/or Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) in general building maintenance
Valid Driver License, class 5, vehicle required.
Good knowledge of techniques and practices used in performing tasks.
Capacity to work and perform tasks according to best practices and methods and established procedures.
Knowledge of electricity, plumbing, carpentry and building services principles, practices, and techniques, as well as of the equipment used to perform related tasks.
Nun's Island Resident or of the employee's dwelling for the shift period.
Good judgment, sense of direction; capacity to evaluate and control work hazards and take necessary precautions.
Tactful and diplomatic.
Ability to work independently (self-managed) and with other Associates in a team environment.
Ability to learn quickly, adapt to change and be flexible in nature.
Strong initiative and pursuit of excellence.
Courteous and obliging attitude towards residents as well as well-groomed and dress code neat at all times.
Other Requirements
On-call overtime as required
