Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for the sewing of samples inclusive but not limited to: Blazers, Coats, Blouses, Dresses
  • Should be able to perform different sewing duties to meet the studio's daily production output of the studio in accordance with quality standards
  • Maintains quality standards as outlined in technical specifications for each garment
  • Pressing of garments and application of notions
  • Diagnosing issues with new development patterns and informing manager

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Industrial Sewing experience is essential, preferably in the apparel manufacturing industry with a focus on ready-to-wear and tailored garments.
  • Ability to use various industrial sewing machines including industrial lock stitch, buttonhole, chainstitch
  • Able to speak and understand English in order to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
  • Team player with the ability to work independently in the studio with daily direction of manager
  • Reliable with good attendance record and focus on punctuality
  • Understands the different types of sewing machine set ups: I.e. "Double needle" and "single needle"
  • Ability to cut small pieces if necessary
  • Understanding the sewing requirements of different fabrics
