About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Physiotherapist, Home Health Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of exceptional healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Treatment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical abilities and develop personalized treatment plans to promote functional independence and safety.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with patients, families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to formulate client-centered goals and develop effective care plans.
  • Education and Training: Provide education and training to patients, families, and caregivers on mobility and transfer techniques, independent living skills, and the use of environmental and equipment adaptations.
  • Delegation and Supervision: Assess client situations and determine appropriate tasks for delegation to family members, caregivers, or community health workers, and monitor and review tasks to ensure continued appropriateness.
  • Resource and Education: Act as a resource to staff and other healthcare professionals on physiotherapy techniques for movement dysfunction, provide in-services, and develop applicable resource materials.
  • Quality Improvement and Risk Management: Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities by evaluating clinical practice and generating recommendations for alternative approaches.
  • Professional Development: Maintain knowledge of current developments in evidence-based physiotherapy and practice by reviewing relevant literature, consulting with other healthcare professionals, and attending relevant education programs.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Graduation from an approved school of Physiotherapy and two (2) years' recent related clinical experience in a community, geriatric, or rehabilitation setting.
  • Registration and Certification: Current full registration with the College of Physical Therapists of BC and eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Physiotherapy.
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of all physiotherapy regimes, ability to communicate effectively, exercise independent judgment, and demonstrate leadership and teaching skills.
