We are looking for a Senior Investigator to support our Security Branch. The Senior Investigator would be someone who shares our core values of Integrity, Excellence, Respect and Creativity.
The Senior Investigator is mandated to lead a small team which investigate all reported or potential incidents with a possible security implication. The scope for this role includes leading the collection and interpretation of information and events generated by internal security monitoring tools and third party providers including Commissionaires.
The Senior Investigator will provide Incident Management leadership and support to highly technical and confidential investigations to address and/or eradicate potential incidents, limit potential exposure and ensure that all established NRC programs operate within established NRC security policies and standards.
Screening CriteriaApplicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates:
EducationCollege diploma or other post-secondary program in a relevant field or a combination of education and required experience in the field of security investigations.
The following certifications will be considered as assets:
Certification in investigation techniques.
Certification in case management.

Experience- Significant** experience with responding to and investigating all reported or potential incidents with a possible security implication.
- Significant** experience with collecting and analyzing evidence to identify the root cause of potential security incidents which includes conducting interviews with appropriate groups and/or individuals.
- Significant** experience with administering an incident management program and processes including the development and leadership of multiple concurrent remediation processes, ensuring proper containment, eradication, recovery and production of required post incident reports.
- Significant** experience interacting with multiple internal and external response partners including lead agencies CSIS, RCMP, SSC, and CSE as required.
- Basic* experience participating in the delivery of recommendations and formulated strategies to improve the efficiency and consistency of all security policies, programs and applications based on incident findings.
- Basic* experience contributing to the improvement of security documentation, reporting mechanisms, awareness and training processes and enhancements.
- Basic* experience supervising employees, setting objectives, goals and priorities and insuring compliance of health and safety practices.

Assessment CriteriaCandidates will be assessed on the basis of the following criteria:
Technical Competencies- Advanced knowledge of security operations, security monitoring and incident response in a complex and geographically dispersed environment.
- Advanced knowledge of implementation of investigative techniques to follow-up reported incidents, identify and verify reports and sources of further information such as operational reports and visitor logs, conduct on-site interviews and examination of physical infrastructure and facilities, and record findings.
- Advanced knowledge of the essential elements of Security Incident Management that incorporates all stages of incident impact assessment as well as the development of strategies for further prevention, mitigation and/or recovery from future incident of this nature.
- Basic knowledge of physical security concepts and standards, personnel screening and information security standards, all in accordance with the Policy on Government Security.
- Basic knowledge of controlled goods & ITAR.
