GEMTEC is a dynamic and growing firm with a strong presence in Ontario and Atlantic Canada. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Intermediate Hydrogeologist to join our team. As a valued member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of hydrogeological projects, supporting land development, infrastructure, and water supply objectives.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in physical hydrogeology, with a demonstrated emphasis on hydrogeological site characterization, hydraulic testing, construction dewatering, and water balance. They will also have experience in managing hydrogeological field programs, including drilling and coring, test pit excavation, monitoring, and sampling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proposal and budget preparation, hydrogeological program development and implementation, associated analysis and reporting.
• Implementation, management, supervision, and technical support for a wide variety of hydrogeological field programs.
• Competent management of consulting projects, including scope development, field program implementation, reporting, accounting, and budget management.
• Excellence in report preparation, including data synthesis, assessment, interpretation, modeling, technical writing, and presentation.
• Verbal and visual presentations to clients, regulators, and the public.
• Training and mentoring of junior and technical staff.
• Client development support.
• Ability to work in teams and with different technical disciplines.
• Continuing professional development.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's and Master's degree in Earth Science, Geological Engineering, or similar.
• Registration with Professional Geoscientists Ontario or Professional Engineers Ontario.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in consulting.
• Demonstrated experience in completing and managing hydrogeological field programs.
• Strong knowledge of physical hydrogeology, including hydrogeological site characterization, hydraulic testing, construction dewatering, and water balance.
• Familiarity with software packages related to physical hydrogeology, including Aqtesolv, Surfer, Leap Frog, Excel, Access, and EQuIS.
• Knowledge of Ontario's regulatory framework for groundwater takings, drinking water supply, and quality, source water protection, and well construction.
• Ability to work in a dynamic consulting environment that requires flexibility and the willingness to work overtime, as required.
• Well-developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication and organizational skills.
