Job Description:

Medicentres is a growing network of healthcare clinics dedicated to providing accessible healthcare to patients across Canada. As a Controller, you will be an integral part of our customer-first team, contributing to the company's growth through business support, team management, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, including cash management, while maintaining timelines and meeting targets.
  • Lead a multi-provincial finance team, including payroll, AP/AR, and analytics.
  • Support financial reporting and analysis for contract negotiations and other business requirements.
  • Track and report on goals of the organization and Finance team.
  • Assist in the preparation of forecasts for Executive Management use and decision making.

Project Management:

  • Liaise with other departments on cross-functional process improvements and implementations.
  • Actively participate in the strategic planning process.
  • Support, develop, and execute Finance strategic projects in the organization.
  • Support company budget preparation.

Team Leadership:

  • Communicate company initiatives and values to direct and indirect reports.
  • Provide training and support to members of the finance team.
  • Lead in coaching and performance management of the finance team.
  • Support team engagement initiatives within the finance team.

Organizational Leadership:

  • Provide support to all levels of the business, while maintaining a customer service focus.
  • Network and act as a liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Internally promote Medicentres services to stakeholders and identify potential new revenue streams.
  • Serve as a member of the Medicentres Leadership team.

Administrative Duties:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of accounting, payroll, medical billing, clinic reporting, third-party receivables, and accounts payable.

Requirements:

  • Relevant work experience in managing and leading mid-sized teams, including at least 2-4 years of experience in a supervisory/management role in a comparably-sized company.
  • Familiarity and comfort working with contractual agreements.
  • Demonstrate strong internal management and leadership skills, including performance management and development of staff.
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting reporting/project deadlines and targets.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to quickly initiate and develop new relationships.
  • Strong analytical and time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is an asset.

Education/Certifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting required.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) required.

Language Skills:

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) an asset.
