DEPARTMENT: Community Services
REPORTS TO: Director of Parks & Recreation.

Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Watering plants and planters.
  • Spring and Fall garden clean up.
  • Planting flowers and garden areas.
  • Garden and flower bed maintenance.
  • Tree maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills Required:
  • Must be able to perform manual work.
  • Able to implement safe work practices.
  • Able to operate light and medium equipment.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Any Horticultural experience / interest is an asset.
  • Valid Driver's license (G or G2).
  • The successful applicant must submit a current driver's abstract and current Criminal Records Police Check satisfactory to the County prior to start date.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work afternoon and weekend shifts on a rotating basis.
  • Standard First Aid/CPR C/AED training.
  • CSA approved work boots must be personally supplied by the successful candidate.
Duration: April- September
Pay per hour: $17.41 (under 18) / $18.33 (over 18)
Hours per week: 40
Location: To be determined

You must be enrolled in a post-secondary Institution and returning to school in the fall in order to qualify for these positions.
