The Veterinary Technician will play a critical role in assisting veterinarians in providing top-quality care for animals. As a Veterinary Technician, you will work directly with animals, as well as support veterinarians and other staff members in various clinical procedures and tasks.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures.
  • Administering medications and treatments to animals as directed by veterinarians.
  • Performing laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures, such as bloodwork and urinalysis.
  • Preparing animals for surgery, including prepping and monitoring anesthesia.
  • Taking and developing x-rays and other diagnostic images.
  • Providing care and monitoring for hospitalized animals.
  • Collecting and documenting patient histories and records.
  • Assisting with client education, including providing information on medications and post-operative care.
  • Maintaining and organizing medical supplies and equipment.
  • Ensuring cleanliness and hygiene in treatment areas.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong passion for animal care, excellent communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail. Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician or in a related role is preferred.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or certification in Veterinary Technology or a related field.
  • Prior experience working as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures.
  • Experience with animal handling and restraint.
  • Familiarity with veterinary equipment, including x-ray machines, laboratory equipment, and surgical instruments.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team and collaborate effectively with other staff members.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Physical stamina to lift and move animals and equipment, and to stand for extended periods of time.
