Job Summary:

The Service Technician - Equipment Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional customer service while ensuring the efficient maintenance and repair of customer equipment. As a key member of the Bunzl Canada team, you will be responsible for recording service requests, successfully servicing equipment, and following up with customers on maintenance or concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform planned and preventative maintenance on company product lines and competitive equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Customer Service: Complete customer service breakdown calls and repairs as scheduled, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of customer issues.
  • Equipment Preparation: Prepare new equipment for installation and in-service, ensuring all necessary documentation and testing is completed.
  • Customer Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer records and profiles, including service history and equipment information.
  • Work Orders: Prepare and complete customer work orders, warranty claims, and parts orders in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, sales staff, and management, fostering a culture of excellent customer service and support.
  • Problem-Solving: Utilize technical expertise and resources to solve mechanical, electrical, and other equipment-related problems, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.

Requirements:

  • Technical Background: Possess a mechanical, electrical, or automotive background, training, or certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a related field, with a strong track record of customer service and equipment maintenance.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers, sales staff, and management.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in computer software and systems, with the ability to accurately record and manage customer information.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and equipment maintenance.
  • Confidentiality: Possess a high level of confidentiality and discretion, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Travel: Some travel may be required, with a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
