This posting will be used to fill full- time 13 month term position working 75 bi-weekly in (Long term care) and will establish a 12-month eligibility list.

This posting will also be Anticipatory for permanent positions in Continuing Care

Essential qualifications

  • Eligible for Registered Nurse registration with a Canadian registered nursing regulatory authority.
  • Recently applied knowledge of nursing theory, practices & techniques

If selected for an interview, candidates should have, and may be assessed on, the following:

  • Ability to provide professional care for residents by promoting their physical, emotional and spiritual well-being.
  • Ability to provide leadership, coaching and training to members of the team.

  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking, relationship building and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to operate across multiple levels of care and within a transdisciplinary environment.

Conditions of employment

You must meet the following conditions before being hired, or within the time frame noted.

TB screening, Vulnerable Sector RCMP security clearance, CPR Level C (completed within last 2.5 years), Food Safe Level 1 , WHMIS 2015, and current registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association.

Job requirements

This job requires you to perform, and/or be exposed to, the following:

Shift work (days, evenings, and weekends), exposure to plants and/or flowers, animals, latex products, second-hand smoke from residents/clients, heavy lifting 50 lbs and over, bending.
