Job Purpose:

As a Staff Pharmacist reporting to the Pharmacy Manager, your main goal is to exceed the company's established goals and objectives. You will support the Pharmacy Manager in implementing corporate and operational Rx policies and procedures to enhance store operations and patient services.


Principal Responsibilities:
  • Train and mentor pharmacy technicians and staff
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation
  • Supervise Pharmacy Technicians for order processing and inventory management
  • Facilitate clear communication among employees
  • Maintain accurate dispensary inventory records
  • Supervise follow-up on third-party receivables
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Maintain dispensary computer operations and backup data
  • Document as required by Colleges of Pharmacy and drug plans
  • Drive sales through promotions and store standards
  • Ensure accurate pricing and receiving procedures
  • Promote company initiatives and services
  • Communicate effectively with customers, physicians, and suppliers
  • Dispense prescriptions accurately and timely
  • Practice within legal requirements and professional standards
  • Uphold customer confidentiality and privacy
  • Maintain dispensary area standards
  • Inspire staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences
  • Provide professional pharmaceutical services
  • Resolve customer issues promptly
  • Administer injections as requested
  • Report dispensing errors promptly
  • Provide professional advice to patients
  • Perform other assigned duties
Knowledge, skills and experience:
  • University Degree and valid Provincial Pharmacy license
  • Member in good standing of the college of pharmacists
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Digital literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong business intuition and financial understanding
  • Self-motivated with coaching abilities
  • Customer satisfaction focused
  • Exceptional multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in streamlining workflows is preferred
  • Ability to achieve results with a positive attitude
  • Balance between pharmacy profession and business
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team
Context and Environment:

As the second in command to the Pharmacy Manager, you will assist in achieving all store objectives while focusing on total store contributions. Collaborate with the Rexall organization to meet store needs. Strong customer focus and confidentiality required with some physical demands.

Internal Communications:

Interact effectively with various levels of store employees, leaders, and management.

External Communications:

Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, suppliers, and other pharmacists.
