Registered Nurse - Inpatient/Outpatient Unit

Seeking a Registered Nurse to provide person-centered care to adults and children in an inpatient unit and/or outpatient clinic setting, working collaboratively with the inter-professional care team.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for assessing patients, collecting information, and making nursing diagnoses to determine the best course of care. You will work collaboratively with the inter-professional care team to provide and coordinate pre and post-operative nursing care, including assisting with surgical and interventional procedures and discharge teaching.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients and collect information from various sources to make nursing diagnoses and determine the best course of care.
  • Collaborate with patients and their families/care givers to develop and implement care plans.
  • Provide and coordinate pre and post-operative nursing care, including assisting with surgical and interventional procedures and discharge teaching.
  • Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, observations, interventions, patient/family responses, outcomes/evaluations, and referrals according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement activities to identify patient care issues and improve practices, procedures, and protocols.
Qualifications

Graduation from an approved School of Nursing and current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Two (2) years recent relevant clinical experience in the designated clinical area and completion of post graduate course work and/or certification applicable to the designated clinical area, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
