We seek an Aerospace Designer to join our team at Coulson Aviation, a global aerial firefighting company.

We are looking for an experienced Aerospace Designer to join our team in Port Alberni, British Columbia.

The right candidate will design cutting-edge aerospace structural and mechanical installations, modifications, and repairs using CATIA V5.

The Aerospace Designer will be responsible for:

  • Designing and developing aerospace structural and mechanical installations, modifications, and repairs.
  • Providing ongoing support of existing designs and products.
  • Developing design documents to demonstrate airworthiness compliance with aerospace regulations.
  • Preparing reports and data packages for design approval and certification.
  • Liaising with OEMs, regulatory approval authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Carrying out other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A relevant Aerospace or Mechanical degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • A minimum of three years of aerospace design work experience.
  • A minimum of three years of CATIA V5 experience.
  • Previous experience with Transport Canada or other regulatory approval authorities is an asset.
  • Knowledge of aerospace materials and processes.
  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office.
