Schedule: Monday to Friday (9 am to 5 pm) - Hybrid (3 days on site, 2 days remote) - may vary based on business needs

Role Type: Full-time, permanent, salaried

About the Role

Reporting to the Associate Director, Operational Excellence (OpEx), you will support OpEx teams in delivering continuous improvement projects across distribution center operations, from defining opportunities, data analysis, solution design & implementation, process development and change management on the shop floor. Additionally, you will be expected to work with and influence a wide range of stakeholders across HelloFresh Canada's fulfillment operations. As a part of the OpEx team, you will play a key role in improving our operational quality, efficiency, and engagement, helping us deliver the best possible value to our customers.

What you will be doing:

  • Help shape the Operational Excellence vision of continuously improving quality, efficiency and engagement
  • Develop standardized warehouse and production processes and work with the team to implement them at a national level
  • Leverage internal data to drive decisions, identify and quantify opportunities
  • Develop and implement performance measurement frameworks to track the impact of operational excellence initiatives
  • Assign and conduct root cause and failure mode & effects analyzes to mitigate risks and prevent recurring issues related to product quality, pick and pack accuracy, minute-per-box efficiency, and waste
  • Drive change management efforts, including assessing change readiness, developing change plans, managing risk mitigation, and supporting sustainable implementation
  • Contribute to the development of the operational excellence strategy and support implementation
  • Solicit feedback from various stakeholder groups and work closely with them to ensure all organizational needs are being considered during operational changes
  • Track, communicate and drive project progress in the OpEx Roadmap
  • Present updates on OpEx initiatives to a wider audience within the organization to help with general awareness and understanding of our vision and mission
  • Act as a champion of site operations, working closely with stakeholders both on the shop floor and in the office alike
  • Work in compliance with OH&S acts and regulations
  • Use personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer
  • Other duties as assigned

At a minimum, you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, supply chain, or a similar field
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a supply chain, manufacturing or operations related field
  • Familiarity with Lean Methodology/Process Mapping
  • A natural curiosity to understand how different systems/processes work and a bias for action to improve them
  • A basic understanding of developing a go/no-go business case
  • A proactive and ambitious mindset: you take ownership of your work and think beyond the scope of a given assignment
  • A charismatic attitude to getting buy-in on your ideas from the design stage to implementation on the shop floor
  • The ability to effectively communicate technical information to a generalized audience without expertise in the area
  • Quantitative and analytical experience (either through education or professional experience), including expertise with G-Suite, Excel, or other data visualization systems
  • A willingness to travel within Canada up to 20% of your working time

What you'll get in return:

  • Competitive salary and health benefits
  • 75% discount on HelloFresh or Chefs Plate weekly box subscription
  • High impact work to help feed thousands of families in Canada
  • Opportunity to learn and grow
  • Work with a hard-working and supportive team

Working Conditions:

It's no surprise that as a food company, we use many ingredients that may be considered common allergens (i.e. peanuts, tree nuts, milk, etc.). Whether this role is based out of our headquarters or one of our distribution centers, it is possible that you may be exposed to such allergens in this role. If you have any concerns with being exposed to any particular food ingredients, including meat, please disclose this during the hiring process.
