The Long Term Care Pharmacy Technician role mandates licensing with the NS College of Pharmacy. This specialized position in Burnside focuses on Continuing Care and serves residents of nursing homes, collaborating with a professional team including physicians, nurses, and pharmacists. The role entails providing patient care, ensuring timely access to prescriptions, and operating under pharmacist supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Medication reconciliation for new admissions and readmissions
  • Checking weekly cycle fills with technical accuracy
  • Operating pharmacy automation platforms
  • Collaborating with pharmacists for quality patient care
  • Managing dispensary workflow
  • Supporting off-site vaccination clinics and performing immunizations
  • Transcribing verbal prescriptions
  • Ensuring prescription accuracy
  • Managing prescription transfers
  • Verifying patient records

Requirements:
  • Pharmacy Technician Certificate
  • Licensure in NS
  • Effective communication skills
