We are seeking an Ice Maintenance Person to join our team.

This role involves performing general maintenance to ensure facility upkeep and regular flooding of ice rinks is completed in a timely and safe manner.

The ideal candidate will be a pro-active and hands-on individual with experience operating ice resurfacing equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes
  • Responsible for Ice Maintenance tasks including:
    • Ice Resurfacer operation
    • Edger operation
    • Ice depth measurement
    • Ice chopping/spudding
    • Levelling the Ice
    • Ice Painting
    • Dasher Board system repair
    • Arena Glass replacement
    • Hockey net refurbishment
  • Execute maintenance and repair of facility fixtures and components
  • Janitorial duties as assigned, including:
    • Janitorial checklists
    • Vacuuming
    • Auto scrubbing
    • Waxing and buffing
  • Ensure that entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear and safe

Qualifications and Education:

  • Completed high school education or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license

Abilities, Attributes and Experience:

  • Previous experience, training and operation of ice resurfacing equipment
  • Willingness and ability to work flexible hours
  • Approachable and team orientated with great communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude
  • Trade or Janitorial experience is an advantage
  • Organised, self-motivated and proactive
