We are seeking a highly skilled Dental Hygienist to join our Public Health team in Burnaby, B.C. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in promoting dental health and preventing oral diseases in our communities.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement dental health programs in assigned areas, working closely with community stakeholders and Public Health staff.
- Conduct dental health surveys, screenings, and counseling sessions to identify and address oral health needs.
- Teach dental health lessons and conduct demonstrations in community settings, promoting healthy habits and best practices.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and deliver educational programs, workshops, and materials.
- Provide direct service delivery, including fluoride varnish applications and other preventative measures, within legislated scope of practice.
- Act as a resource to the community, providing dental information and support to Public Health staff and other stakeholders.
- Develop and submit funding applications, as required, and participate in the preparation and planning of dental budgets.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Diploma in Dental Hygiene from an accredited School of Dental Hygiene.
- Current practicing registration with the College of Dental Hygienists of British Columbia.
- Three years' recent, related experience in general dental hygiene practice, including one year's recent, related experience in dental hygiene in a community/public health environment.
- Valid BC Driver's Licence and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
