Vertex Resource Group Ltd. is currently hiring a Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to support our Turnaround project lasting an estimated 20 days, located in Wood Buffalo Region. The successful candidate must have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks / projects while remaining highly organized in a fast paced, high demand work environment.

  • MUST BE AVAILABLE STARTING ON AUGUST 10, 2024.
  • MUST BE ABLE TO MEET AT IN ROCKY VIEW, RED DEER, SHERWOOD PARK OR LAC LA BICHE FOR PROVIDED TRANSPORTATION TO SITE.
  • CAMP ACCOMODATIONS WILL BE PROVIDED.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeymen certificate
  • Red Seal certification is considered an asset
  • Can complete a CVIP inspection
  • 4-6 years' experience as a Heavy-Duty Mechanic, preferably with semi-truck and trailer experience (hydraulic repairs and diesel engine repair)
  • Class 5 License with a clean drivers' abstract
  • Ability to perform duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Ability to work independently while managing time and productivity
  • Current and up to date first-aid and H2S alive safety certificates is an asset
  • A valid class 1 or 3 drivers' license is considered an asset

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections, on heavy truck and trailer equipment, in the field.
    • Engine
    • Drive Train
    • Wiring and light problems,
    • Electrical diagnostics,
    • Air system,
    • Wheels,
    • Brakes,
    • Clutches
    • and steering components etc.
  • Complete required documentation and reporting for inspections and repairs
  • Prepare work orders/cost estimates for service approval
  • Conduct all job responsibilities in accordance with Vertex HSE standards, guidelines, and rules
