The Senior Engineer will be responsible for providing project management, technical expertise, and engineering knowledge on the planning, design, and construction of the City's most complex and critical bridge infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead by example and manage a variety of assigned engineering projects.
- Direct multi-disciplinary project team staff and mentor other professional engineers and technical personnel.
- Manage project budgets, perform site inspections, and ensure compliance with guidelines.
- Provide technical advice and expertise to support varied units and devise new approaches for capital construction projects.
- Conduct research into assigned areas and ensure that it takes into account developments within the field, corporate policies, and practices.
- Completion of post-secondary education degree or diploma in civil and/or structural engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Extensive experience in the application of the principles of civil and structural engineering and of materials and methods of construction, rehabilitation, and upgrading.
- Extensive project management experience from inception to implementation, including planning, design, and construction of public works infrastructure.
- Considerable experience in developing reports, RFPs/proposals, and presentations.
- Registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO), or licensing as a professional engineer in good standing in another Canadian engineering association.
