Job Role Overview:

The shunter plays a crucial role in transporting trailers, trucks, waste, and supplies within Stericycle's premises, such as yards, terminals, warehouses, and processing plants. Responsibilities encompass organizing and processing materials for shipping, storage, or disposal, including equipment movement, daily inspections, maintaining inventory knowledge, and positioning tasks. Additionally, a Shunter is tasked with arranging vehicles within the yard to facilitate loading, unloading, and transportation activities. This role also involves assisting with loading/unloading supplies and organizing warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain communication with the management team via radio or telephone to receive delivery/pick-up instructions
  • Report maintenance issues to management for resolution
  • Operate company equipment safely and efficiently to minimize risks
  • Engage in driving/transporting materials following company policies and regulations
  • Perform Plant Associate duties as required
Experience Requirements (North America & LATAM):
  • Preferred Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Effective communication skills and adherence to health and safety protocols
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year with class 1
  • Valid Class 1 Driver's License from the Nova Scotia Province
